This is what the students say about Lucy's lessons
"I was an enthusiastic Kiswahili student of Lucy. Despite the fact that I am 65 years old, Lucy made it easy for me to get into the language in such a short time that I could find my way around on my own as a tourist in Kenya and Tanzania. Thanks be to Lucy. »

I was looking for a Swahili teacher to prepare for my three-month stay in Tanzania with the goal of working as a prospective midwife in a hospital in Dar es Salaam. I did not only acquire the basic knowledge of Swahili, but also learned a lot about the African Culture. At the beginning of each lesson there was a tasty chai (tea) or kenyan kahawa (coffee) and an interesting saying, "Methali". Lucy brought me closer to Tanzania with her sincere demeanor and tangible zest for life, and my anticipation increased after each class meeting. Asante sana dada yangu »

" I decided to deepen my Swahili. After some internet research I found Lucy. When I arrived in Lucy's office, I felt welcomed immediately and the same thing happened in Tanzania as well, where I was able to get to know the culture.
Lucy taught me objectively, practically and successfully, so that in the summer of 2017 I was able to have a wonderful trip to Tanzania where I excercised my language skills. Police checks, shopping, working with children, the small talk in the dala dala (local buses), all these were experiences that I will never forget. The language I learned was my key to understanding the culture, which has helped me a lot and for which I am still immensely grateful to Lucy. » - Laura Gerweck, social pedagogue, Zurich |
